The Computer Know-how¬†(CT) program has been developed to provide training within the rules underlying the design of modern pc methods. College of Manchester researchers Frederic Williams, Tom Kilburn, and Geoff Toothill develop the Small-Scale Experimental Machine (SSEM), higher referred to as the Manchester “Baby.” The Child was built to check a new reminiscence technology developed by Williams and Kilburn – soon known as the Williams Tube – which was the first excessive-pace electronic random access memory for computer systems.
